Victorian Glasshouse Ruin Monsoon Mist in near Anyang

Victorian Glasshouse Ruin Monsoon Mist

by Roberto McLeod

Thick monsoon mist rests on the broken iron framework of a Victorian glasshouse near Anyang, where nature has begun to reclaim the structure. Palm fronds push upward through shattered roof panes, their green fronds against the grey, rusted metal ribs. Dappled sunlight falls through the dense canopy of surrounding trees, illuminating patches of wet glass shards and the moss-covered floor. Layers of depth recede from the foreground debris into the hazy background where the forest thickens. Water droplets bead on the remaining curved glass, catching the soft morning light. One jagged piece of glass rests on a bed of ferns.
