Twilight Sand Spit in Queensland Lagoon

A narrow sand spit cuts diagonally through a turquoise lagoon, its edges blurred by wind-whipped spray during the rainy season. Deep shadows swallow the foreground while a sharp rim of pale twilight light traces the crest of the dune. Layers of dark, wet vegetation recede into the distance across the valley floor, their leaves heavy with recent rain.
