Trinidadian Callaloo Bowl Underwater Portugal

Indigo twilight water surrounds a ceramic bowl filled with green callaloo, crab meat, and dumplings. The dish rests on a bed of swaying seagrass meadow below the Portuguese coast. Faint blue light filters down from the dim surface, illuminating the steamy textures of the food against the cooling water. Plankton haze softens the distant seagrass blades, creating a shallow depth of field. The greens of the leafy vegetable contrast with the pale dumplings and orange crab shells. Tiny suspended particles drift in the fading light. One dumpling edge reflects the surface glow.
