Mist rests on the air as a red tractor moves through terraced rice paddies in Inverness during early spring. The earth is dark and wet, turning over in thick furrows under the gentle drizzle. Green shoots of young rice plants line the upper edges of the terraces, against the freshly tilled brown soil. The light is soft and diffused, casting no sharp shadows, only a uniform gray glow across the landscape. Water pools in the lower sections of the paddies, reflecting the pale sky. The tractor's tires churn the mud, leaving deep tracks that ripple with raindrops. A wooden fence runs along the ridge, weathered by the damp air. The scene shows the quiet rhythm of agricultural work continuing despite the weather.
