Dawn Fog Over Pear Orchard and Rice Terraces

Thick white fog blankets the terraced rice paddies near Chengdu, rising slowly to reveal rows of pear trees beneath. Early summer green leaves glisten with moisture under the diffused gray light of dawn. Fine dust and chaff particles drift horizontally across the frame, suspended in the still air between the stone walls of the terraces. The stone retaining walls create sharp geometric lines that contrast with the soft, billowing mist. Golden light begins to touch the highest ridges, illuminating the texture of the wet soil and the delicate veins on the pear leaves. Tiny droplets rest on the tips of the grass blades along the water channels. The mist thins at the edges, exposing the dark, reflective surface of the flooded paddies below.
