Tokay Gecko Calling from Tidal Crevice

Soft, diffused light falls through a late autumn sky, illuminating a textured stone crevice beside a Newfoundland tidal inlet. A tokay gecko rests on the damp, gray rock face, its mottled skin blending with the wet stone. The creature's mouth is open in a call, throat pulsing slightly. Behind it, the water churns gently, reflecting the pale overcast sky. Fallen brown leaves rest on the mossy rocks, marking the season's end. The background dissolves into a soft blur of water and distant shoreline, isolating the gecko against the quiet, storm-cleared air. A drop of brine rests on the tip of a nearby leaf.
