Tibetan Damaru Drum in Yaounde Shrine
Sunlight streams through the open doorway of a shrine, illuminating a Tibetan damaru ritual drum resting on a polished wooden altar. The instrument features a double-headed drumhead stretched over a wooden frame, with two small clappers hanging from leather straps on either side. Behind the drum, rows of paper lanterns in deep reds and golds line the walls, their surfaces reflecting the high-altitude light. Humid air hangs heavy after the monsoon rain, visible as a slight haze softening the distant lantern edges.
