Tibetan Damaru Drum in Bobo-Dioulasso Prayer Hall

Bright open daylight floods the interior of a prayer hall in Bobo-Dioulasso, illuminating a Tibetan damaru ritual drum resting on a wooden surface. The drum features two small heads stretched tight over a dark, carved bone or wood frame, with metal clappers suspended by thin cords that catch the late morning sun. Rough-hewn stone walls surround the instrument, their earthy ochre tones against the polished, smooth texture of the drum's body. Shadows fall sharply across the floorboards, indicating a clear day outside. The clappers hang motionless, their metallic sheen reflecting the intense light. A faint dust mote floats near the rim, suspended in the beam of light that strikes the intricate carvings on the drum's side.
