Molten orange light floods the wooden stage floor from the left, illuminating a circle of performers holding traditional drums. The low angle emphasizes the height of the musicians against the darkened theater backdrop. Sweat glistens on their skin under the intense side lighting. Red and yellow fabric sashes drape over the drum heads, catching the glow. Behind them, heavy stage curtains hang in deep shadow, while a faint mist from the monsoon season lingers in the air near the stage edge. Dust particles dance in the beams of light. The wooden floorboards show wear marks from years of use. One drumstick rests on the rim of a foreground drum.
