Santeria Ceremony Drumming Altar First Light
Pale walls reflect the soft, indirect glow of early morning light that filters into a quiet indoor space. At the center stands a stone altar constructed from rough-hewn blocks, arranged in perfect symmetry. Colorful cloths drape over the lower tiers, displaying deep reds and vibrant yellows alongside woven baskets filled with offerings. Several hand drums rest on the stone surface, their leather skins taut and textured under the warm interior shadows. The monsoon season brings a heavy, humid stillness to the air, visible in the way the light settles on the damp stone and the polished wood of the drums. One candle flickers on the top tier, casting a small, steady pool of golden reflection on the adjacent white plaster. The composition balances the weight of the sacred objects against the empty, pale space surrounding them.
