Norwegian Thunder Snow Storm Midday in in Norway

Norwegian Thunder Snow Storm Midday

by George Kline

Hard coastal glare cuts through thick, heavy snow falling in early spring across a Norwegian landscape. The sky remains a perfectly clear, deep blue above the chaotic white curtain of precipitation. Layers of snow-covered hills recede into the distance, their dark rock faces peeking through the white drifts. The ground shows patches of melting slush and exposed earth where the thaw begins. A jagged bolt of lightning fractures the air, casting sharp, electric shadows on the snowdrifts beside the frozen fjord. Melting water beads on the surface of the snow, reflecting the bright blue sky and the sudden flash of the storm.
