Survey Line on Tehran Outcrop at Sunset
Red measuring tape stretches across jagged, dry limestone rocks under a heavy ceiling of low-hanging gray clouds. The setting sun sits behind the rocky ridge, throwing the foreground into deep silhouette while filtering light through the storm clouds to create a soft, diffuse glow. The tape measure lies taut against the rough, uneven stone surface, its white markings and red casing faintly visible despite the shadow. Dust rests on the crevices of the arid outcrop, and the dry season has stripped the landscape of green, leaving only the stark textures of the geology. A metal stake anchors the line into the ground, its sharp edge catching a sliver of the fading ambient light against the dark rock.
