Telescope Pier in Iranian Desert Outcrop

Dappled sunlight falls through sparse leaves to strike a cylindrical concrete pier rising from the arid ground. The structure stands isolated against a backdrop of jagged, rocky geology typical of an Iranian high desert. Late summer heat shimmers slightly above the pale stones, while the sky above remains a flawless, unbroken azure. Shadows from the surrounding foliage create a mosaic of light and dark across the pier's smooth surface and the uneven terrain at its base.
