Soft gray light from an overcast sky illuminates churned brown mud in a long military trench line stretching across open ground in Da Nang. Rain-slicked earth reflects the dull afternoon brightness while a massive porcelain teacup, scaled like a swimming pool, rests centrally in the trench. The ceramic surface gleams wetly against the rough, sodden soil. Muddy tracks curve around the giant vessel, showing the scale of the impossible object. Green tropical foliage lines the trench edges, against the gray sky and the stark white curve of the oversized cup. A shadow from the rim falls sharply onto the wet mud below.
