Commuters Under Train Line with Giant Teacup

Copper-toned light from the dry season dusk illuminates a crowded bus stop beneath an elevated train track in Port Moresby. Rain lashes the pavement, creating heat shimmer that distorts the air above the wet asphalt. Dozens of commuters huddle under the shelter, their clothes soaked and heavy with water. In the center of the gathering, a porcelain teacup the size of a swimming pool rests on the ground, its rim gleaming with droplets. The massive cup dwarfs the people, its interior holding a small puddle that reflects the overhead steel beams. Water streams down the white ceramic surface, merging with the rain falling on the asphalt. A shadow from the train structure stretches across the cup's handle, anchoring the impossible object to the gritty reality of the street.
