Wet earth glistens where a brief sun shower mixes with construction grit, forming a slick surface of browns and greys. Heavy tire tracks carve deep channels through the sludge, leading toward the crane's base where rusted metal meets the damp ground. Fine dust hangs in the bright morning air, settling on puddles that reflect the pale sky. Scattered debris and wet concrete chunks rest near the pit's edge beside the churned mud. A shadow from the crane's lattice structure falls sharply across the wet surface, defining the boundary between the dry open ground and the active work zone.
