Giant Teacup Over Moroccan Desert Switchbacks
by Max Green
From directly overhead, green orchard blocks intersect pale irrigation lines across the arid terrain. Sharp, geometric switchbacks cut through the dry earth, casting long, rigid shadows that stretch north under the flat noon glare. The light remains harsh and unfiltered, creating high contrast between vibrant foliage and sun-baked soil. In the center, a porcelain teacup scaled to a swimming pool rests upon the sand. Its rim catches the bright sunlight, while the interior holds a deep shadow suggesting liquid. Wind whips dust around the cup's base, blurring the particles against the object, yet the cup remains perfectly still. The delicate white glaze contrasts with the rough ground. A thin, dark shadow falls directly beneath the cup's base, anchoring the impossible object to the real surface.
