Along Seawall in Vancouver

Golden hour light spills across the wet granite seawall of English Bay, illuminating the textured surface where a few scattered seagull feathers rest near a discarded plastic bottle cap. In the mid-ground, a lone surfer walks toward the churning grey surf, board under arm, silhouetted against the bright, reflective water. The horizon line is sharp and low, dominated by the dark, brooding forms of the North Shore mountains fading into the atmospheric haze. The raw, unpolished beauty of the Pacific Northwest coast, with the salt spray catching the last warm rays of sunlight on the stone, creating a stark contrast between the rugged natural elements and the subtle traces of human presence.
