Sunset Reflections on Wet Serengeti Tidal Flats

Burnt orange and deep violet light spills across the flattened expanse of a wave-cut shoreline in the Serengeti during the rainy season. The wet ground acts as a perfect mirror, duplicating the fiery sky in a seamless, inverted composition that blurs the horizon line. Heat haze shimmers above the surface, distorting the edges of the reflection into soft, liquid waves. Dark, saturated mud contrasts with the glowing water, while sparse, rain-soaked grasses poke through the shallow pools. The texture of the mud appears smooth yet cracked in places, catching the firelight warmth in jagged highlights. A distinct line of reflection divides the frame, anchoring the geologic grandeur of the vast, open plain under the heavy, humid sky.
