Steel Scaffolding Against Zacatecas Sky

by Silas Richard

Heavy steel beams crisscross against a building facade in bright open daylight, forming a dense grid that converges toward a distant vanishing point. The flat glare of noon washes the metal in harsh white light, eliminating deep shadows while highlighting the rough, rusted texture of the joints. Overhead, heavy overcast skies from the rainy season press down, turning the background into a uniform sheet of slate gray. Beside the scaffolding, exposed structural steel stands stark and industrial, its vertical lines showing the monumental utilitarian force of the construction. Wet patches glisten on the lower beams where recent rain has settled, against the dry, dusty concrete of the building wall behind the metalwork.
