Spring Crocuses in Snow Near Whitehorse

Vibrant purple and yellow crocus petals push upward through a patchwork of melting white snow in terraced garden beds. The heavy overcast sky diffuses the late afternoon light, casting a soft, uniform glow across the uneven ground. Each flower head stands tall against the pale, icy soil, its waxy surface catching the faint warmth of the sun near the horizon. The terraced rows create horizontal bands of texture, separating the dark earth from the lingering snowpack. Small droplets of meltwater rest on the lower leaves, reflecting the muted sky above. One snowflake rests on the edge of the nearest petal.
