Slow Loris Perched on Branch Night Bhopal

by Shane Gilliam

A slow loris clings to a rough, dark branch, its thick fur catching faint starlight against a pitch-black sky. Below, a glacial stream cuts through the dry season landscape, its surface reflecting the pale glow of distant ground light. The animal's large, round eyes dominate its face, appearing almost liquid in the low illumination. Twisted roots and dry leaves litter the stream bank, creating a textured foreground that anchors the worm's-eye perspective. Above, the perfectly clear sky offers no clouds, only the sharp, cold light of stars illuminating the scene. The loris remains motionless, its grip tight on the bark, while the water flows silently beneath.
