Slow Loris in Blue Hour Rain Shadow
by Trinity Meza
Deep indigo shadows swallow the dense foliage near Ratlam while a slow loris clings tightly to a wet, dark branch. Raindrops hang suspended on the glistening leaves, marking the brief sun shower of the rainy season. The animal's massive amber eyes catch the fading ambient light, creating two glowing orbs against the cool blue darkness. A thin rim of light outlines the silhouette of the loris and the surrounding twigs, separating the subject from the shadowed background. The fur appears thick and slightly matted from the moisture, against the smooth, reflective surface of the wet bark. The wide panoramic view shows the stillness of the forest floor, where water pools in the earth beneath the overhanging canopy. One raindrop slides down a leaf edge, tracing a clear path through the green.
