Monsoon Waterfalls Through Bamboo Forest Shoreline Malaysia

by Jane Hansen

Deep shadow cloaks the dense bamboo grove where a cascade of small waterfalls tumbles down the wave-cut shoreline. Bright rim light catches the outer edges of the green stalks, separating them from the dark undergrowth. The water flows over smooth, wet rocks into a calm pool that perfectly mirrors the sky above. A perfectly clear blue sky hangs overhead, against the heavy green foliage below. Rain-slicked surfaces glisten with moisture from the monsoon season. The water's surface remains glassy, reflecting the vertical lines of the bamboo and the bright horizon. One reflection of a bamboo stalk breaks the symmetry at the water's edge.
