Hard coastal glare illuminates a team of huskies pulling a wooden sled across a vast sheet of Arctic ice near Oslo. The dogs move in a tight line, their breath visible in the brief arctic summer air beneath heavy overcast skies. In the immediate foreground, a rectangular window frame cuts into the landscape, yet the glass reveals the same icy tundra and sledding team inside the room rather than the outdoors. The interior wall is rough timber, against the smooth white ice outside. Shadows from the sled runners stretch long across the snow, leading to a dark wooden window sill where a metal cup sits. The impossible window pane reflects the harsh light, merging the indoor texture with the outdoor horizon in a single, unbroken plane.
