Aurora Borealis Over Oslo Fishing Huts
by Alma O'Neal
Soft, diffused light from a late afternoon winter sky falls through low-hanging gray clouds, illuminating a row of weathered fishing huts in Oslo. The structures, built of dark, moss-stained timber, stand against a backdrop of pale, snow-dusted ground. Above, faint ribbons of green aurora borealis shimmer through the cloud cover, their light muted by the overcast conditions. The huts show signs of heavy use, with peeling paint and rusted metal roofs that catch the dim glow. A figure in heavy winter clothing stands near the entrance of one hut, their posture suggesting focus and resolve. The negative space around the huts emphasizes their isolation in the vast, flat landscape. at the edge is the faint reflection of the aurora on a wet patch of ice near the hut's foundation.
