Silhouetted Wind Turbine in Morning Fog in over a horizon of stacked thunderheads in Bahamas

Silhouetted Wind Turbine in Morning Fog

by Dylan Trevino

A dark, three-bladed wind turbine stands rigid against a backdrop of stacked thunderheads hovering low over the Bahamian horizon. Thick, white mist fills the lower atmosphere, obscuring the ground and softening the edges of the distant clouds. The early morning light is diffuse and gray, casting the turbine into a sharp silhouette while the storm clouds behind it appear in varying shades of slate and charcoal. Pale spring light falls through the thick fog, creating a muted palette of grays and whites. The blades are motionless, their dark forms cutting cleanly through the hazy air. At the base, the mist swallows the structure, leaving only the upper tower and rotor visible against the heavy sky.
