Lightning Fork Over Wind Turbines at Blue Hour in through low marine fog near Minsk

Lightning Fork Over Wind Turbines at Blue Hour

by Gregory Randall

Steel-blue twilight washes the sky above a flat, fog-draped plain near Minsk. Three massive wind turbines stand in silhouette, their blades frozen against a bruised horizon. A jagged fork of lightning splits the clouds, illuminating the mist with a stark, electric white glow that contrasts sharply with the deep indigo surroundings. The low marine fog softens the base of the turbines, blending them into the damp grass below. Rain streaks hang visibly in the air, catching the flash and creating a shimmering curtain across the landscape. The sheer scale of the machinery dwarfs the rolling fields, while the sharp, fractured light cuts through the heavy, saturated atmosphere, ending in a single bright arc that vanishes into the gray fog.
