Silhouetted Switchboards in Roofless Tamil Nadu Hammam

Deep shadows swallow the interior of a roofless hammam in Tamil Nadu, where late-night wet season clouds press low against the sky. A vintage telephone exchange stands as a dark silhouette, its intricate web of wires and switchboard panels barely outlined by a sharp rim of moonlight. Vines and ferns creep up the crumbling brick arches, their green leaves glistening with recent rain. The open roof reveals a heavy, gray sky that seems to press down on the structure. Water pools on the stone floor, reflecting the faint silver edge of the clouds. The old copper connectors and wooden frames sit motionless, slowly being overtaken by the encroaching vegetation. One frond rests against a rusted metal bracket.
