Moonlit Doctor Shelf in Bathinda Rain Ruins
by Helen Berg
Cold moonlight falls through a missing roof, illuminating a weathered wooden shelf holding rows of glass medicine bottles inside a roofless hammam structure near Bathinda. Steady rain falls in silver streaks, pooling on the cracked stone floor and dripping from the remaining arched brickwork. Vines creep up the crumbling walls, their green leaves wet and dark against the gray plaster. The bottles, some intact and others broken, catch the pale light, creating sharp reflections on the wet surfaces. A stone frame in the foreground acts as a border, focusing attention on the scattered medical supplies. The scene is quiet, with the only movement coming from the falling rain and the slow growth of nature reclaiming the abandoned space. The air is heavy with moisture, visible in the way light scatters through the droplets.
