A dark speedboat cuts a sharp wake across mirror-still water beside a fogbound harbor mouth near Siena. The sky splits unnaturally in half; the left side glows with late day blue while the right side plunges into a star-filled night. Raindrops from a brief sun shower ripple the surface, catching the light of both the fading sun and the emerging stars. The boat sits in perfect silhouette against this impossible horizon. Mist rests on the distant hills, softening the rocky shoreline. One droplet hangs on the bow, reflecting the dual sky above.
