Silhouetted Purple Iris Against Bhutan Mountain Sky

Bright late morning light floods a high-altitude garden in Bhutan, turning deep purple bearded iris into dark shapes against the white sky. The heavy petals hang forward, their edges sharp where the sun hits them. Weather-beaten leaves show rough textures from dry mountain winds, resting low on the ground beside the sturdy stems. Distant ridges fade into a hazy blue behind the blooms, marking the elevation. The soil appears dark and dry under the plants. A cluster of dried seed pods hangs from a stem at the edge of the frame, against the vibrant violet shadows.
