Blue Pink Hydrangea Silhouette Evening Shadow in near Asuncion

Blue Pink Hydrangea Silhouette Evening Shadow

by Alma Potts

Late summer fog softens the edges of a hydrangea bush near Asuncion as the last blue light of evening fades. The plant stands in deep shadow, its massive clusters of blue and pink petals defined only by a sharp rim light tracing their irregular outlines. Thick green stems rise from the dark earth, supporting heavy flower heads that droop slightly under their own weight. The air hangs still and damp, visible as a hazy veil around the foliage. Light catches the wet texture of the outer petals, creating a glowing fringe against the encroaching darkness. One cluster on the right edge reflects the fading sky in a pale, cool highlight.
