A weathered barber pole leans precariously against crumbling stone beneath a broken archway. The red and white stripes fade into a dark silhouette against the pale, hazy glow of nautical dawn. Low sunlight strikes the horizon, illuminating dust trapped in the damp air between the stones. The rough texture of the ancient masonry contrasts with the smooth, peeling paint of the metal pole. Shadows stretch long across the empty boardwalk, showing the stillness of the midsummer morning. The arch frames the scene, its broken edges jagged against the soft sky. A faint reflection of the pole appears on a wet stone surface near the base.
