Silhouetted Erhu on Theater Stage Guatemala City

Indigo ambient light floods the darkened theater stage, defining the Chinese fiddle as a sharp silhouette against the faint glow of the proscenium. The instrument rests on a simple wooden stand, its curved body and elongated neck outlined only by the dark shape against the dim background. Humid air hangs heavy in the space, visible as a slight haze softening the edges of the stage floor. The turn of seasons brings a chill to the evening, yet the air remains thick and still. Behind the instrument, blurred outlines of theater curtains suggest the depth of the empty venue. One beam of cool light catches the polished edge of the fiddle's neck, highlighting the smooth wood grain before fading into the shadows of the backstage area.
