Silhouetted Sarangi Player in Dehradun Rehearsal

Bright midmorning light fills a rehearsal room in Dehradun, casting the sarangi player into a dark silhouette against the window. The musician draws the bow across the instrument's strings while thick stage haze hangs suspended in the air. Early winter clothing covers the figures seated on the floor around the performer. Pale beams of light stretch across the room, illuminating dust particles and the haze. The carved wooden headstock of the sarangi creates a sharp, jagged outline against the glowing background. Heavy drapes hang from the high windows beside the seated audience. A dark shadow falls across the floorboards at the edge of the frame.
