Shetland Pony on Foggy Nebraska Winter Moor

Pale late afternoon light cuts through dry mountain haze over a windswept Nebraska moor. Thick ground fog pools in the hollows, obscuring the lower legs of a small Shetland pony standing on the ridge. The animal faces away, its thick winter coat ruffled by the wind. Bare, brittle grasses poke through frost-covered earth in shades of beige and rust. The pony's dark mane hangs stiff against the air, and its tail rests low against the hindquarters. Low clouds drift across the horizon, blending with the mist that rests on the uneven terrain. The rear hooves sit partially buried in shallow snow, anchoring the creature against the vast, empty landscape.
