Rust Stains and Storm Ladders on Sydney Sea Wall

Clear dry mountain light strikes the concrete sea wall, revealing deep orange streaks of rust running down from heavy iron storm ladders. Green-black algae covers the lower damp sections, resting against the pale gray stone. The overpass interchange rises behind the wall, its steel beams forming sharp converging lines that extend toward a distant vanishing point. A thin sea haze sits low on the horizon in early autumn, separating the hard civic geometry from the muted sky. The roughness of weathered surfaces defines the structure, with a sharp shadow from a ladder rung falling across the algae-covered concrete.
