Salmon Spawning Bed at Sunset in Jinan
Shallow gravel stretches across the tidal inlet edge where clear water reveals a reddish-brown spawning bed. Several silver salmon rest motionless in the gentle flow, their bodies angled against the current. The last light of early winter sunset casts a warm, low glow across the wet stones, highlighting individual pebbles and the translucent ripples on the surface. A perfectly clear sky above transitions from pale orange to deep blue, reflecting faintly in the water. The gravel bed shows distinct depressions where fish have dug, creating small mounds of displaced sediment. Fine ripples move slowly over the fish, blurring the background while keeping the foreground stones sharp and detailed. One shadow of a reed falls across the water near the bank.
