Sailboat Fleet Race Start Tennessee Evening

Late summer twilight settles over a Tennessee lake as a fleet of sailboats gathers at the race start line. The water holds a deep, reflected blue from the fading sky, rippling around hulls and masts. Wind whips the white sails into taut, curved shapes, while rigging lines stretch sharply against the darkening horizon. Boats align in a diagonal formation, creating converging lines that draw toward a distant vanishing point where the shoreline meets the water. The hulls reflect the cool evening tones, their surfaces smooth and wet. Ripples spread outward from the sterns, disturbing the glassy surface. at the edge is the white foam of a breaking wave curling against the bow of the lead vessel.
