Pale dawn light washes the flat cropland beneath a churning wall cloud near Providence. The massive, rotating base of the storm hangs low, its dark underbelly silhouetted against the pale, diffused glow of the rising sun. Thin fog rests on the field, softening the boundary between earth and sky while the cloud bands above move with frantic speed. Bare branches of scattered trees frame the horizon, their skeletal forms stark against the turbulent gray. A faint, jagged edge of the cloud base touches the distant treeline, marking the precise point where the sky meets the earth.
