Rotating Wall Cloud Above Flat Cropland in through low marine fog near Jalingo

Rotating Wall Cloud Above Flat Cropland

by Ethan Tyler

Thick marine fog blankets the flat cropland near Jalingo as the dry season sun dips toward the horizon. A massive wall cloud rotates in the distance, its dark, churning base silhouetted against the fading orange light. The sky above remains a deep, heavy grey, against the soft, white mist pooling in the low depressions of the field. Layers of depth stretch from the immediate foreground, where the fog obscures the soil texture, to the ominous storm structure looming on the horizon. The light catches the edges of the swirling clouds, defining their violent motion against the stillness of the foggy ground. Sharp shadows fall across the undulating landscape, marking the transition between the bright sky and the darkening earth.
