Rope Bridge Over Jungle River Gorge at Noon
by Troy Pittman
Vibrant emerald foliage lines the steep banks of a deep gorge where a narrow rope suspension bridge spans the rushing water. The wooden planks of the walkway appear damp and darkened by recent rain, while thick manila cables stretch taut between rusted metal anchors bolted into the granite cliff face. Sunlight hits the wet surfaces with a flat, white glare, eliminating deep shadows and highlighting the glossy texture of the leaves. Below, the river churns with white foam, its surface acting as a mirror that reflects the bridge's silhouette and the surrounding greenery. The sky above is a stark, cloudless blue, contrasting sharply with the chaotic density of the jungle. One water droplet rests on the edge of a splintered wooden rail, waiting to fall.
