Patches of pale, branching reindeer moss form a soft, uneven cushion across the damp forest floor. Fronds of green ferns crowd the edges, their delicate leaves against the coarse, spongy texture of the lichen. The scene is illuminated by the flat, unyielding glare of the midnight sun, casting short, sharp shadows that define the moss's three-dimensional structure.
