Spanish Moss Live Oak Fog Mongolia Horizon in beneath fast-moving cloud bands in Mongolia

Spanish Moss Live Oak Fog Mongolia Horizon

by Colin Farrell

Thick strands of Spanish moss drape vertically from the dark, rough bark of a sprawling live oak branch. The tree stands alone against a sky where fast-moving cloud bands obscure the sun, yet a warm, golden rim of light wraps the lower horizon. Late spring dust hangs low above the dry ground, catching the fading illumination and creating a hazy, textured layer beneath the canopy. The moss appears soft and gray-green, against the deep shadows of the oak. Above, the clouds move in heavy, dark streaks, while the horizon glows with the last intensity of the day. One strand of moss catches the edge of the golden light, glowing faintly against the encroaching dark.
