A thin film of rainbow-colored oil spreads across a dark asphalt puddle, reflecting the harsh midday sun. Above, a horizon of stacked thunderheads dominates the sky, their gray bases heavy with impending rain against a patch of clear blue. The pavement surface is dry and cracked near the water's edge, against the wet, glossy sheen of the oil slick. Bright spectral bands of violet, green, and orange ripple within the puddle, distorted by the uneven ground. The scene shows the stark difference between the dry, dusty air of the mountain light and the wet, dark urban surface. A sharp shadow from a nearby concrete curb cuts across the oil reflection, dividing the colorful swirl into distinct geometric sections.
