Patches of iridescent oil spread across a shallow puddle in a paved parking lot, displaying shifting bands of teal, violet, and burnt orange. Late autumn leaves in shades of russet and brown litter the asphalt edges, against the wet gray surface. Dappled sunlight falls through overhead tree branches, casting sharp, moving shadows that fracture the colorful film on the water. A thick marine fog rolls in the background, softening the distant horizon while the sky above remains a perfectly clear, pale blue. The reflection of a bare branch stretches across the slick, anchoring the vibrant colors to the dull ground.
