Oil Rainbow on Lichen Bark Puddle in Prayagraj

A microscopic pool of water rests on rough, grey bark covered in patches of pale green and ochre lichen. An iridescent sheen of spilled oil spreads across the surface, displaying thin bands of violet, teal, and burnt orange that shift with the light. Soft, diffused daylight from an overcast sky illuminates the wet texture, revealing fine dust motes suspended in the air above the puddle. The bark's deep fissures hold the liquid, creating a tiny landscape of reflection. Tiny droplets rest on the edges of the lichen, catching the muted winter light. One ray of light hits the oil's center, highlighting the swirling, metallic colors against the matte stone.
