Pleiades Through Cirrus Clouds Over Shimla Valley in at a rocky saddle overlooking a mountain valley near Shimla

Pleiades Through Cirrus Clouds Over Shimla Valley

by Nico Solomon

Thin, wispy cirrus clouds drift across the darkening sky just above the rocky saddle near Shimla. The Pleiades cluster glows faintly through the translucent veil of ice crystals, their blue-white stars piercing the misty diffused light of early morning. Below, the mountain valley stretches into the distance, shrouded in a soft haze that softens the rugged terrain. The wind whips the loose stones and dry grass along the ridge, creating a subtle motion blur in the foreground vegetation. The sky transitions from a deep indigo near the horizon to a pale, luminous gray where the sun has just risen, casting a gentle glow on the cloud edges. A sharp ridge of granite anchors the lower left corner, its rough texture against the softness of the clouds above.
