Summit Cairn Prayer Flags Thimphu Ridge Midday

Hard midday light flattens the wind-sculpted stone cairn perched on the Thimphu ridge, its rough grey rocks glowing white under the coastal glare. Colorful prayer flags strung above flutter violently against the perfectly clear blue sky, their faded reds, blues, and yellows stark against the pale stone. Layers of distant mountains recede into the haze, creating deep spatial separation between the foreground rocks and the horizon. Early spring leaves a sparse, dry ground cover around the base, where shadows fall sharp and short beneath the stones. A frayed edge of a blue flag catches the light, revealing the rough weave of the fabric against the smooth, weathered rock surface.
